Job summary

House of Hope, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) for the 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM shift in Fort Lauderdale, FL. You will help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and support clients on their recovery journey.

You will work with clinical staff to monitor client well-being, document daily notes, and implement daily living skills training in a structured setting. A strong team mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of BHT or mental health technician experience preferred.
• Experience working with substance abuse populations is a plus.
• Exceptional verbal and written interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer literacy for logging daily notes and reporting incidents.
• Strong adaptability, high emotional intelligence, and a team-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Safety: Monitor client behavior and activities through regular perimeter and dormitory checks.
• Support Clinical Teams: Promptly report health, safety, or behavioral concerns to the clinical staff.
• Empower Clients: Assist and train clients with basic daily living skills and personal hygiene needs.
• Provide Care: Offer consistent positive reinforcement and emotional support to clients in recovery.
• Collaborate Daily: Adapt smoothly to shifting facility needs and perform other BHT duties as assigned.
