Job summary

Lifeskills Behavioral Health in Deerfield Beach, FL is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support clients with mental health and substance use treatment in a residential setting. You will help maintain a therapeutic milieu, monitor behavior, and support daily activities under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years’ experience working with clients with substance abuse and/or mental health issues.
• Drug and alcohol certification preferred or willingness to complete requirements within orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client safety at all times; monitor and record client behavior during the shift.
• Transport and/or direct clients to appointments; provide structured living experience in residence.
• Adhere to policies and procedures related to client care; take direction from supervisors.
• Document services provided, incident and shift reports in a timely, accurate manner.
• Greet guests warmly and maintain professional interactions with clients and families.
• Promote a therapeutic environment and collaborate with clinical team for education groups.
• Identify triggers for escalation and apply de-escalation techniques.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and supervision during meals.
