Job summary

SOME So Others Might Eat is seeking a Residential Assistant to provide monitoring and oversight at Kirwan House in NW Washington DC, ensuring residents' health, safety and well-being.

The role supports program operations, oversees house activities, and assists with medications and client coaching to maintain recovery. Schedule is Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 am to 12:00 pm, 24 hours per week.

Qualifications

• HSGED and 3–5 years of experience in social services, with experience in addictions or mental health treatment.
• Preferred: Associate’s Degree; 5+ years in social services; experience in addictions or mental health treatment.
• Valid Driver's License required; CPR/First Aid knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide monitoring and oversight to ensure health, safety, and well-being of residents.
• Oversee house operations and safety maintenance; report concerns.
• Support residents in recovery and participate in client programming on-site and in the community.
• Monitor and document medications taken by clients; assist with transportation as needed.
• Conduct group activities, maintain client documentation, and communicate with the treatment team.
