Job summary

SOME (So Others Might Eat) seeks a Residential Assistant to support residents at Kirwan House in NW Washington, DC. You will help monitor health and safety, assist with treatment goals, and support daily program operations.

The role requires HS/GED, 3–5 years in social services, and experience in addictions or mental health treatment; CPR/First Aid is preferred. Schedule includes Saturdays and Sundays, 12:00 pm–12:00 am, 24 hours weekly, with essential duties and community involvement.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• 3-5 yrs experience in social services; experience with addictions or mental health treatment.
• Associate's Degree preferred; 5+ yrs experience preferred; valid Driver's License.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee house operations and ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Provide clients with support to maintain progress on treatment goals.
• Plan and facilitate client participation in activities on-site and in the community.
• Facilitate on-site group meetings and coaching for residents in recovery.
• Monitor and document medications taken by clients.
• Provide crisis management and document incidents.
• Maintain client documentation and shift communications.
• Transport clients as needed to meet program needs.
• Assist in preparing meals and routine house chores.
