Job summary

SOME (So Others Might Eat) is seeking a Residential Assistant to provide monitoring and oversight in a residential housing setting in NW Washington, DC. The role requires HS/GED, 3–5 years in social services, and experience with addictions or mental health treatment.

The position is essential, with evening hours (Mon-Fri, 4:00 pm–12:00 am) and opportunities to support clients in recovery while helping maintain program operations and safety.

Qualifications

• HS/GED; 3-5 yrs experience in social services; experience providing services in addictions or mental health treatment
• HS/GED required; Associate's degree preferred for advancement
• Experience with substance use or mental health treatment settings

Responsibilities

• Oversee house operations and ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Provide clients with support to progress on treatment goals.
• Plan and facilitate activities on-site and in the community including recovery.
• Monitor and document medications and provide crisis management as needed.
• Maintain client documentation and shift communications.
• Ensure household chores are completed and assist in meals.
