Position: Automated Side Load Driver

Operates refuse collection vehicles on pre-assigned routes to pick up garbage, yard waste, or recycling. Oversees helpers, performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and performs related duties.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Safely drives truck on pre-established routes, collecting and dumping refuse, and unloading at designated facilities.
2. Provides exceptional customer service, ensuring courteous and efficient operations.
3. Maintains a positive attitude towards company, customers, and municipal goals.
4. Picks up refuse and recyclables, tagging improper containers as needed.
5. Performs daily vehicle inspections, including safety checks and DVIR, following Waste Pro and DOT guidelines.
6. Maintains a clean truck, washes exterior weekly, and inspects under the hood and undercarriage.
7. Performs manual cleanup duties and moves large trash bins using hydraulics.
8. Prepares and submits required reports and documentation.
9. Responsible for all personnel working on the vehicle during routes.
10. Complies with all DOT and state requirements for commercial vehicle operators.

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record.
• At least 21 years old.
• Understanding of refuse collection policies and DOT regulations.
• Normal hearing and vision, with or without correction.
• Physical ability to lift and push 50 pounds frequently, and work in extreme weather conditions.
• Ability to follow instructions, maintain records, and communicate effectively in English.

Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks repeatedly, work in various weather conditions, and participate in required training.
