Job summary

Talbert House in Lebanon, OH is seeking a Residential Advisor for the 2nd shift to maintain a safe, supportive residential environment and help clients build life skills.

You will lead daily activities, conduct safety checks, document observations, observe medications, assist with intake, and collaborate with the team to adapt to evolving needs.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and 0–2 years of experience; driving may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Zero to two years of relevant experience. Training and support will be provided.
• Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance, when driving is required for the position.
• Experience in human services is a plus—but a compassionate attitude, strong character, and dependable work ethic are essential.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe and supportive environment. Oversee daily client activities with a calm, professional presence.
• Maintain safety and structure through routine safety checks and facility rounds.
• Encourage growth by helping clients build life skills and achieve goals.
• Follow medication and screening procedures; observe drug screenings.
• Uphold program safety standards; conduct searches as needed per policy.
• Keep accurate records of daily observations and incidents using designated software.
• Respond to emergencies with de-escalation techniques and crisis-management strategies.
• Welcome new clients and assist with non-clinical intake procedures.
• Monitor client progress and behavior and report changes.
• Provide transportation to appointments and program activities as needed.
• Be a dependable teammate and adapt to changing needs.
