Job summary

Helia Healthcare is seeking a Social Services Director to lead and coordinate psychosocial care for residents in a compassionate, proactive manner. The role involves assessing resident needs, developing interventions, and ensuring quality documentation and compliance with regulations.

You will supervise a social services team, coordinate with families and medical staff, and drive initiatives to improve residents’ overall well-being and satisfaction across the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related human-services major.
• At least one year of social work experience with supervisory duties and direct work with geriatric residents.
• Missouri or Illinois Social Work license (location dependent).
• Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, and regulatory knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Gather and assess residents’ psychosocial needs, risk factors, life stories, quirks, and family dynamics.
• Design social service interventions to improve quality of life for residents.
• Complete required documentation in a timely, professional manner.
• Lead the social services team with charisma and structure.
• Coordinate Family Council and manage the grievance process gracefully.
• Collaborate with families, physicians, staff, and referral sources to keep everyone informed.
• Track quality indicators to drive continuous improvement.
