Job summary

Journey is seeking a dedicated Transportation Driver to safely move residents to medical appointments, social events, and daily activities at The Rosewood at Tybee Island. You’ll escort residents in and out of vehicles, help with wheelchairs, and coordinate with nursing and admin staff to plan schedules.

The role requires a valid driver's license, clean driving record, ability to pass background and drug screening, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Experience in transportation, preferably in healthcare or senior living.
• Basic knowledge of wheelchair lifts and securing mobility devices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility needs courteously and respectfully.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, social outings, and facility events.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including securing wheelchairs and walkers.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle.
• Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and facility transportation policies.
• Communicate effectively with nursing and administrative staff regarding transportation schedules and resident needs.
• Provide a positive and friendly experience for residents during transportation.
• Assist with other duties as needed to support resident mobility and engagement.
