Job summary

Journey at The Rosewood on Tybee Island is seeking a dedicated Transportation Driver to safely move residents to medical appointments, social outings, and facility events, while providing a friendly, courteous experience.

A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and prior transportation experience in healthcare or senior living are required; you will assist residents with mobility needs, secure wheelchairs, and coordinate with nursing staff to support resident mobility and engagement.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's license.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Previous experience in transportation, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting.
• Basic knowledge of wheelchair lifts and securing mobility devices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility needs in a courteous and respectful manner.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, social outings, and facility events.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including securing wheelchairs and walkers.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle.
• Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and facility transportation policies.
• Communicate effectively with nursing and administrative staff regarding transportation schedules and resident needs.
• Provide a positive and friendly experience for residents during transportation.
• Assist with other duties as needed to support resident mobility and engagement.
