Job summary

Keyser Healthcare Center, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is seeking a Transportation Assistant to help residents travel to outside medical appointments and within the facility. You will ensure safety, support the care team, and document activities in accordance with procedures.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and Nurse Aide training eligibility; Red Cross First Aid certification is required. Compassion and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or eligible to enter and graduate and pass a state test within 120 days from date of employment.
• Red Cross First Aid Certificate.
• Prior work/life experiences involving independent decision making; healthcare/service preferred.
• Compassionate and enthusiastic personality.

Responsibilities

• Transport residents to outside physician visits safely.
• Assist with transporting residents within the facility to scheduled appointments.
• Assist with transporting residents to and from in-house activities.
• Monitor residents deemed an elopement risk during outside visits.
• Perform basic nursing care procedures as required.
• Maintain resident documentation and ensure safety/compliance with procedures.
• Adhere to department, center, and corporate policies and quality standards.
• Attend trainings and orientation to maintain certification and enhance care.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
