What You Get To Do
As a Resident Maintenance Technician, you will be expected to provide industrial Electrical/Mechanical expertise and be part of a team that works to maximize equipment utilization and efficiency.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Rectify electro-mechanical faults and provide specialist technical assistance as a support technician.
- Respond to emergency calls on customer sites.
- Be safety conscious in all activities, demonstrate ownership of problems, and promote successful completion of tasks.
- Provide first-class response to customers, ensuring a first-time right policy as reasonably and practically as possible.
- Provide emergency breakdown and specialist maintenance support.
- Handle setup and calibration of precision automation equipment.
- Create strong effective working relationships with customers and their operational agents to enable superior service.
- Achieve performance in terms of output, response speed, repair quality, and workmanship standards.
- Train customer’s maintenance team as required.
- Provide experience and expertise in the installation of conveyor and automation equipment.
- Maintain quality of service through effective communication.
- Ensure reports are well written and legible.
- Execute site quality and safety procedures and statutory requirements.
- Participate in meetings with supervisors or managers to discuss activities and progress.
- Provide specialist maintenance support to the installed system.
- Log spare parts usage issues promptly with the Spare Parts team.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of tooling and equipment.
- Provide flexibility and optimal use of skills and capabilities.
- Ensure accurate and legible timesheets and documents, submitted biweekly.
- Experience in mechanical disassembly/reassembly, wiring, calibration, and system testing.
- Work against timeframes for reactive repairs.
- Communicate repair and maintenance progress to on-site management.
- Take ownership of issues for quick resolution.
- Carry out risk assessments considering health & safety.
- Read assembly drawings and operate hand tools.
- Follow setup instructions and checklists.
- Pay close attention to detail and follow up diligently.
- Exhibit excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Be computer literate with basic Microsoft Office skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing roles.
- Respect cultural diversity.
What You Have
- Degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3-8 years of experience in maintenance repair roles.
- Experience repairing various machinery systems including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or English/German) preferred but not required.
- Experience with equipment modifications, maintenance, and design.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret systems and provide insights to customers.
- Process-oriented approach.
- Experience with PLC-based machinery, automated, robotic, and control systems.
- Network interface experience is a plus.
- Hands-on team player committed to process improvement.
- Experience reducing costs through efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills.
Working Conditions and Environment
- Basic technical understanding required.
- Availability for weekends and overtime as needed.
- Occasional travel.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and/or Canada.
- Ability to obtain a passport.
- Maintain professional office etiquette.
- Physical requirements may include sitting, squatting, walking, reaching, lifting (50-100 pounds), and reading.
