Job summary

Carriage Crossing Senior Living of Champaign is seeking a compassionate Activities Assistant to support residents through organized outings, daily activity participation, and engaging interactions. You will interview residents at admission to tailor activities and maintain equipment inventories.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills to foster a warm, dignified environment in our community.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Minimum age 21; driving record in good standing preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the company van on organized outings.
  • Interview residents upon admission to determine likes and dislikes.
  • Document residents’ participation in activities daily.
  • Plan and maintain inventory of activity equipment and supplies.
  • Evaluate and modify the activity program to meet residents’ needs.
  • Plan and coordinate the community newsletter.
  • Coordinate with the resident council for input.
  • Coordinate resident shopping orders for those unable to shop independently.
  • Engage with residents in a warm, compassionate manner.
  • Participate in ongoing learning through seminars and staff meetings.
