Job summary

Aperion Care is seeking an Assistant Activity Director to plan and coordinate indoor and outdoor programs that promote the well-being and engagement of residents at our Indiana facility.

You will lead group activities, collaborate with care staff, supervise Activity Aides, and help shape the monthly activity calendar while fostering community involvement and supporting resident goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• 2 years minimum of experience in a social or recreational program.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate group social activities for residents.
• Organize spiritual programs and attendance at houses of worship.
• Provide opportunities for resident involvement in planning and implementation of activities.
• Plan creative activities such as arts, crafts, music, drama and educational programs.
• Lead exercise activities for residents.
• Promote facility and community interaction.
• Prepare, plan and coordinate a monthly calendar of activities.
• Oversee Activity Aides.
• Train and supervise volunteers when appropriate.
• Assess resident needs and develop activity goals for the care plan.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities and document participation.
• Review resident goals and progress notes.
• Document MDS reports and progress notes.
• Assist in developing the activity budget and sourcing funds.
• Foster relationships with families and community partners for support.
• Attend care plan meetings, QAPI, and department meetings as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
