Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in recreation, art therapy, or a related field is preferred.
• Current unencumbered designation to practice as a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality activity programming to residents.
• Interacts with residents to ensure quality care and positive resident/staff relations.
• Maintains open and trust-building relationships with resident family members, responding to requests or concerns.
• Reviews resident concerns/complaints and records actions taken.
• Acts as community liaison, seeking new revenue-generating opportunities and referral sources.
• Attends care conferences as necessary.
• Addresses concerns from Resident/Family Satisfaction Survey.
• Maintains charts and documentation for compliance with applicable standards.
• Assists Quality Assurance in improving activities and plans of action.
• Participates in development and oversight of plans of care for each resident.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Bachelor’s degree in recreation, art therapy, or a related field
