Job summary

Ohio Living is seeking an Activities Assistant to support residents' interests and well-being through engaging programs and social activities.

You will coordinate events, assist with crafts, document progress, and work with care teams to encourage participation while meeting safety and compliance standards.

This role requires weekend/evening availability and strong English reading, writing, and speaking skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year activities experience preferred.
• Two years in a long-term care or related healthcare setting preferred.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Provide programming that meets residents’ interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.
• Encourages and assists residents to participate in hobbies and crafts.
• Assists bed-bound residents by visiting, writing/reading letters, providing materials for hobbies, etc.
• Makes routine visits to residents and assists with crafts, projects, etc.
• Coordinate scheduled parties, movies, games/activities appropriate for residents in various levels of care.
• Develop and oversee written plans of care and ensure progress notes are charted and descriptive.
• Attend all-employee and departmental meetings and in-service training as scheduled.
