Job summary

Ohio Living is seeking an Activities Assistant to support a resident-centered program in a long-term care setting. You will implement activities that align with residents' interests and overall well-being, including crafts, reading, and social events.

You will visit residents, assist with hobbies, and coordinate transportation for activities while maintaining strong communication with families and care teams. Prior experience in healthcare is preferred, and English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• One year activities experience preferred.
• Two years experience in a long-term care, hospital, or other related healthcare setting preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Provide programming that meets residents' interests and well-being.
• Encourage and assist residents to participate in hobbies and crafts.
• Assist bed-bound residents by visiting, writing/reading letters, providing materials for hobbies.
• Make routine visits to residents and assist with crafts and projects.
• May assist with transporting residents to/from dining areas.
• May accompany residents to off-site activities.
• Interact with residents to ensure quality care and positive relations.
• Maintain relationships with resident family members and respond to requests.
