The ideal candidate has a culinary degree (preferred) and Serve Safe Certification, with experience in healthcare settings. Flexibility for weekends/holidays is required; benefits include tuition reimbursement and day-one coverage.

Qualifications

• Culinary degree preferred.
• Serve Safe Certification required.
• Experience as a cook in residential or healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of nutrition, cooking techniques and food safety standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals following menus, dietary guidelines, and residents' preferences.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served at safe temperatures per Serve Safe.
• Keep kitchen clean and compliant with health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with Dietary Manager to plan nutritionally appropriate menus.
• Monitor inventory, assist with food ordering, and manage waste.
• Train and guide kitchen staff to maintain quality.
• Engage with residents and staff to create a welcoming dining area.
• Address special dietary needs or allergies with care.
