Job summary

St. Paul’s Assisted Living is seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will prepare nutritious meals, follow established menus and dietary guidelines, and serve residents with care.

Serve Safe certification is required; a culinary degree is preferred. The role offers opportunities for tuition reimbursement and benefits within the Trinity Health network.

Qualifications

• Serve Safe Certification required.
• Culinary degree preferred.
• Proven experience as a cook in a residential or healthcare setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of nutrition and food safety standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals following established menus, dietary guidelines, and residents' preferences.
• Ensure food is cooked and served at safe temperatures and in compliance with Serve Safe standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the Dietary Manager and team to plan menus that meet nutritional requirements and dietary restrictions.
• Monitor inventory levels, assist with food ordering, and manage waste to minimize costs.
• Train and guide kitchen staff as needed to maintain high-quality standards.
• Engage with residents and staff to foster a welcoming and respectful atmosphere in the dining area.
• Address special dietary needs or allergies with attention to detail and care.
