Job summary

Trinity Health's Sanctuary of Holy Cross in South Bend, IN is seeking a part-time Cook to join our dietary team, preparing nutritious meals that feel like home for residents while following established menus and dietary guidelines.

You should have Serve Safe certification; healthcare kitchen experience is preferred. You will work with the Dietary Manager to plan menus, ensure safe temperatures, maintain cleanliness, and deliver warm, respectful dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Serve Safe Certification is required.
• Experience in healthcare or residential kitchen preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, nutrition, and food safety standards.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals following established menus, dietary guidelines, and residents' preferences.
• Ensure food is cooked and served at safe temperatures and in compliance with Serve Safe standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the Dietary Manager and team to plan menus that meet nutritional requirements and dietary restrictions.
• Monitor inventory levels, assist with food ordering, and manage waste to minimize costs.
• Train and guide kitchen staff as needed to maintain high-quality standards.
• Engage with residents and staff to foster a welcoming and respectful atmosphere in the dining area.
• Address special dietary needs or allergies with attention to detail and care.
