Job summary

Kay Apartment Communities seeks an Assistant Community Manager for its Gaithersburg, MD property. This role guides leasing, resident relations, maintenance, and budget execution to maximize occupancy and resident satisfaction.

You will lead a team, coordinate with the Community Manager, and ensure timely repairs, showings, and policy compliance. A valid driver’s license and weekend availability are required, with bilingual ability a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of property management experience.
• High school diploma; college degree preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work Saturdays and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to residents, staff, vendors and visitors.
• Assist in overseeing leasing, resident relations, maintenance, budgeting, accounts payable, vendor relations and team development.
• Manage rent collection, research resident ledgers, suits and eviction processes.
• Schedule contractor work and help lead, develop and motivate the team.
• Ensure occupancy and resident retention goals while controlling delinquency.
• Enforce company policies, Fair Housing laws and property procedures.
• Assist with inspections, move-in/move-out checks, and showings.
