Job summary

Letort Springs in Carlisle, PA is seeking an Activities Assistant to enrich residents' lives through engaging recreational, social, and emotional activities under the guidance of the Director of Activities.

You will organize and facilitate crafts, games, and community events, assist with daily tasks, and help track residents’ progress while ensuring a warm, compassionate environment for seniors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in long-term care or working with the elderly or disabled is desirable.
• Must be 18 years or older to apply.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the emotional, recreational, and social needs of residents are met on an individual basis.
• Assist residents with everyday tasks such as writing letters, making phone calls, and registering to vote.
• Maintain accurate records of residents’ progress and participation in activities.
• Support activities such as mail delivery, escorting residents to programs, plant and pet care, preparing newsletters, fundraising efforts, and making morning announcements.
• Facilitate creative activities, including crafts, painting, and other projects that promote self-expression and engagement.
• Carry out programs that foster entertainment, communication, relaxation, and opportunities for residents to explore their creative talents and fulfill social, psychological, and spiritual needs.
