Job summary

FutureCare is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Activities Director in developing and implementing the facility activity program. You will help deliver engaging activities, coordinate with volunteers, and assist with daily announcements and outings to promote residents' well-being.

The role emphasizes a compassionate approach to elderly care, with opportunities to contribute through arts and crafts, music, and social activities. Weekend/holiday/evening availability is required.

Qualifications

• Strong desire to work with the elderly or disabled.
• Previous experience in arts/crafts and/or music highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activity programs to improve quality of life and well-being.
• Assist in making daily announcements for residents and staff birthdays.
• Assist with fulfilling sensory needs of bedridden and LYFE participants.
• Help plan monthly activity calendars and contribute ideas.
• Communicate daily problems to the Activities Director and staff.
• Work with volunteers during activities and supervise them with the Director.
• Document attendance and complete participation records.
• Attend care plan meetings when assigned.
• Document inventory of supplies and assist with outings.
• Engage with community organization representatives visiting the facility.
