Delve Underground in Chicago, IL seeks a Resident Engineer with at least 10 years of heavy underground construction experience, focusing on water infrastructure like tunnels and pipelines. You will supervise office personnel, advise on critical tasks, review RFIs, schedules, and safety plans, and manage change orders and claims.

The role requires a PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months, strong communication, and willingness to work swing/night shifts. CAD/Primavera skills are a plus.

Formación

• BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Project Management or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Professional Engineering license in Illinois or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy infrastructure construction including tunnels and pipelines for water conveyance.
• Knowledge of tunneling, microtunneling, HDD, and shaft excavation construction.
• Ability to manage concurrent assignments and mentor field personnel.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with Primavera is ideal; CAD knowledge a plus.
• Willingness to work swing or night shifts when needed.
• Ability to meet physical requirements for field inspections.
• OSHA 30 and related training certificates a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise and manage office personnel including Office Engineer, Community Liaison, Assistant Field Engineers, and Inspectors.
• Advise the Client on critical project tasks and troubleshoot project issues.
• Review field paperwork including RFIs, schedules, inspection reports, logs, and meeting minutes.
• Oversee and negotiate Change Orders, overruns, and claims.
• Run all construction field meetings and oversee field inspections of the Contractor's work.
• Maintain professional relationships with the Prime Contractor to deliver high-quality end-products.
