Job summary

HDR is seeking a Resident Engineer to interpret drawings, monitor construction progress, and ensure compliance with contract requirements. You will supervise junior staff and coordinate with subconsultants while maintaining thorough project documentation and records.

Ideal candidates hold a PE license, have significant construction engineering experience, and are proficient with office software and CPM scheduling tools. The role offers on-site work across multiple locations within the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field
• Previous construction engineering experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Estimating & CPM Scheduling Software, and web-based collaboration tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings and specs; identify discrepancies
• Maintain accurate daily records of contractor activities and resources
• Review materials for contract compliance
• Track quantities and develop pay estimates
• Attend and chair construction progress meetings
• Observe installation and testing of equipment and systems
• Identify nonconforming work and develop punchlists
• Develop record documentation for engineer review
• Assist with project audits and closeout
• Supervise junior staff and subconsultants
