Job summary

WSP is seeking a Full-Time Resident Engineer for California locations, including San Bernardino and Irvine. You will provide technical leadership for complex construction management projects and supervise field inspection activities across roadway, transit, and related disciplines.

The role requires 12+ years in the field with 5+ as a Resident Engineer, a CA PE license, and strong contract document reading skills. Offices | San Bernardino, Irvine; travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

BSCE or related degree.
Current California PE license.
Minimum of 12 years of experience, 5 of which are as a Resident Engineer.
Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materials.
Ability to read and understand contract documents.
Valid CA driver’s license.
Experience working with railroads.
Proven safety record and adherence to policies.
Must complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.

Responsibilities

Full understanding of public construction contracts for California.
Resolve field construction issues and conduct meetings with contractor/owner/utilities.
Inspect, document, and coordinate field tests of construction materials.
Analyze costs of changed conditions and draft change orders.
