Job summary
WSP USA is seeking a Full-Time Principal Assistant Resident Engineer for our California offices in Irvine or San Bernardino. You will provide technical leadership on complex construction management projects, supervising field engineering, inspection, and contract administration.
The role requires a BSCE or related degree, a current CA PE license, 10+ years of experience with at least 5 as lead, and a valid CA driver's license. Relocation not offered; salary range provided.
Qualifications
- BSCE or related degree
- Current California PE license
- 10+ years of experience, 5+ as lead
- Valid CA driver’s license
- Experience working with railroads
- Uphold safety policies and pass motor vehicle screening
Responsibilities
- Understand public construction contracts for state highways and local agencies
- Resolve field construction issues effectively
- Lead meetings between contractor, owner, utilities and project parties
- Inspect and document field tests of construction materials
- Analyze construction costs of changes and draft change orders
- Prepare constructability reviews and reports
- Oversee field engineering, contract administration, inspection, testing, surveying and quality control on projects
- Supervise field inspection and field office personnel
- Represent projects at meetings and conferences
- Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and policies
