Job summary

Brookdale Senior Living is seeking a Resident Engagement Coordinator to support activities that enhance residents’ social connections and quality of life at the community in Portland, OR. The role focuses on creating engaging monthly activity calendars in partnership with residents and leading collaborative events with the community leadership team.

The position emphasizes person-centered care for aging adults and may involve driving community vehicle for programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of direct experience with adults, coordinating, planning, and executing programs.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in therapeutic recreation, gerontology, health care, education, or related field preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes a person-centered approach starting with positive perceptions of aging, while building relationships and connections amongst residents.
• Develops a monthly calendar, in partnership with residents, based on residents’ shared interests.
• Collaborates with community leadership team to plan, coordinate, and execute special events at the community including holiday, family, educational, and other marketing events.
• Plans and schedules meaningful opportunities for resident engagement outside the community, which may include driving a community vehicle.
