Job summary

Carolinas Alliance for Residential Excellence is seeking an Activities Coordinator to engage residents through planned programs and social events. The role involves coordinating calendars, transportation assistance, and budget management to ensure meaningful activities within the facility.

The position requires completion of a state-approved Activities Coordinator Program with supervision or oversight by a certified individual, plus a valid NC Driver's License. Prior PCA/CNA certs are preferred.

Qualifications

• Obtain required certification or provide proof of oversight by certified individual.
• Demonstrate involvement with all residents, staff, families, volunteers, and community resources.
• Maintain an updated resident’s interest list, as well as individualized preferences and abilities for each resident.
• Plan 14 hours of scheduled activities weekly, considering residents’ needs and interests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a monthly calendar for planned activities and keep it posted in an easily accessible area.
• Provide activities for residents that include social, recreational, diversion, intellectual, volunteer, and work-type themes.
• Meet with the administrator bi-annually to evaluate activities program and discuss strengths and weaknesses.
• Assist residents with transportation as related to activities program.
• Plan at least one outing every month.
• Take inventory and purchase supplies for activities within budget.
