Job summary

PACS is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in creating a creative and engaging activities program. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate standards while addressing residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial needs.

The position requires planning and conducting activities, coordinating communications among staff and families, and helping with assessments, calendars, and transportation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferable one-year experience in a long term care facility.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.
• Ability to solve practical problems.
• Ability to interpret a variety of written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct individual, small and large group activities.
• Assist in communication between staff, residents, families and others to meet resident needs.
• Develop monthly activity calendar and maintain attendance records.
• Assist in discharge planning and activity care plans.
• Arrange transportation for residents when necessary.
