Job summary

Genesis Healthcare is seeking an Activity Assistant to plan and execute engagement activities for patients and residents in a long-term care setting. You will help design recreation therapy services, track attendance, and participate in care plan meetings to support patient well-being.

The role emphasizes clear communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to positively engage with residents, families, staff, and visitors in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English to ensure patient safety and needs.

Responsibilities

• Enrich the lives of patients/residents by planning, organizing and implementing engagement activities that meet physical, creative, cognitive, social, spiritual needs.
• Provide input into the design of monthly recreation therapy services
• Document patient/resident attendance and participation level at recreation programs
• Attend care plan meetings as needed
