Job summary

Genesis Healthcare is seeking an Activity Assistant to enrich the lives of patients and residents by planning, organizing and implementing engagement activities that address physical, creative, cognitive, social, spiritual, and other needs. You will document attendance, help design monthly recreation therapy plans, and participate in care plan meetings.

Strong communication, organization and record-keeping skills are required, along with the ability to engage positively with residents, families

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors and respond to their medical and physical needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and implement engagement activities that meet residents' physical, creative, cognitive, social, spiritual and other needs.
• Provide input into the design of monthly recreation therapy services
• Document patient/resident attendance and participation in recreation programs
• Attend care plan meetings as needed
