Job summary

HarborChase of Dr. Phillips is seeking a cook to assist with menu preparation, inventory control, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. The role focuses on preparing food attractively while adhering to nutritional guidelines and residents’ dietary needs.

Responsibilities include receiving and storing supplies, coordinating meals for events, and reporting equipment issues. A high school education is required, with certification in food preparation preferred.

Qualifications

• High school education required.
• Experience cooking for large groups is a plus.
• Certified in food-preparation training preferred.
• Knowledge of state food-handling regulations.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and fire and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report food and supplies needed for the next week’s menus.
• Assist in receiving, rotation, and storage of products.
• Prepare menus and cook food in accordance with nutritional guidelines and residents' diets.
• Assist residents’ independence with eating by providing adaptive equipment when needed.
• Prepare food and coordinate food services for special community events when requested.
• Notify Dir. of Food and Beverage or any malfunctioning kitchen equipment or appliances.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of food per infection control standards.
• Work in a safe and alert manner and take ownership of safety for associates and residents.
• Disclose any medication that might impair ability to perform duties safely.
