Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a dedicated dining assistant to provide courteous meal service for residents and guests at our Charleston, SC location. You will assist with menu orders, beverage service, and dining room upkeep to ensure a warm, welcoming environment.

Role requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and adapt to flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Training and equal opportunity employment are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow simple instructions.
• Must possess ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and work under close supervision.
• Must be able to stand and walk for sustained periods up to three hours.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Must be organized and willing to work well with other team members.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Serve resident and guest meals courteously and for clean-up and resetting of dining room.
• Assist residents when placing orders from the menu.
• Provide beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk and coffee/tea).
• Refill salt/pepper/sugar bowls prior to and after each meal.
• Report any broken equipment or tableware to supervisor.
• Understand sit-down service and proper serving techniques.
• Have a basic understanding of food preparation (salads, desserts, etc.).
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining room.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
• Complete all other duties assigned.
• Assist with tray service.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information.
• Interact with residents, guests, co-workers and supervisors in a polite manner.
