Job summary

YES Communities in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Collector to manage payments, follow delinquencies, and coordinate payments for rent, utilities, and fees. This role may involve cold calling, resident visits, and using texts and emails to address overdue accounts.

You will also handle office tasks, answer phones, greet residents, and support the sales/leasing team when needed. Evening/weekend hours and a valid Florida driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated, independent and able to work with minimal supervision.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Strong conflict resolution and time management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work some evening and/or weekend hours.
• A valid in-state driver's license is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous collections experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect, process and document payments from residents and assist with electronic payment setup.
• Answer phones and greet customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Prepare and hand deliver correspondence including collection notices as directed by management.
• Maintain office files and provide administrative support.
• Coordinate with legal counselors and loan partners on collection efforts and possible modifications.
• Provide backup support for other community team members.
• Follow Fair Housing and proper collection practices.
• Additional duties as assigned by management.
