Job summary

Hawthorn Senior Living is seeking a friendly Dining Assistant to serve meals and support residents in a busy dining room setting. This universal role is cross-trained to assist in other positions as directed by the Community Executive Chef and Management Team.

You will deliver meals, assist with opening packages, and ensure dining areas are clean and well-presented. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively in English, maintain sanitation standards, and demonstrate patience,

Qualifications

• Ability to present meal alternatives to residents and guests.
• General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices.
• Meets state health-related requirements.
• Must meet state age-related requirements.
• Communicates effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Greets residents at table before taking orders or serving.
• Takes meal orders politely and delivers them to kitchen.
• Delivers meal trays to resident apartments as necessary.
• Cleans and resets dining tables and chairs.
• Maintains dining room cleanliness and supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Community Executive Chef.
