Job summary

Hawthorn Senior Living seeks a courteous dining room/server to serve meals and support residents with exceptional service. The role includes greeting residents, taking/fulfilling meal orders, and maintaining a clean dining environment.

The position is a universal employee role, with cross-training in other duties as directed by the Community Executive Chef and Community Management Team, emphasizing teamwork and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Ability to present meal alternatives to residents and guests.
• General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices.
• Meets state or provincial health-related requirements.
• Must meet state or provincial age-related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents (and visitors) at table and take orders or serve.
• Take meal orders and deliver to kitchen.
• Ensure adaptive equipment is available when needed.
• Serve beverages, cereals, soups, salads, meals, and desserts.
• Assist residents with opening packages and food preparation as necessary.
• Deliver meal trays to resident apartments.
• Bus and clean dining room tables and chairs.
• Set tables for next meals and maintain dining areas.
