Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered care at the Canistota facility in Canistota, SD. Under a licensed nurse, you will assist with daily living activities, monitor vitals, and support medications administration and safety.

The role includes documenting care, assisting with meals and mobility, and supporting wellness programs. Certification requirements vary by state; CMA/TMA training and active CNA registration are expected, with a sign-on bonus

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; preferred but not required.
• Minimum age 18; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
• CNA certification per state requirements (Iowa/Minnesota/North Dakota/South Dakota) and CMA/TMA course completion.
• Active CNA registration in state of practice or ability to obtain within 120 days; CMA or CMA-like certification per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and document outcomes.
• Record vital signs, collect non-invasive specimens, and communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist with meals, range of motion, transfers, and assistive activities; support wellness programs.
