Job summary

Good Samaritan is hiring a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance at Canistota, SD. The role includes assisting with activities of daily living, providing psycho-social support and administering medications under supervision.

Requirements include CNA certification and CMA coursework where required by state; compensation ranges from $19.50 to $28.00 per hour with a 40-hour workweek and day shift.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred but not required.
• Must hold CMA or CMA-related certification as applicable in state practice.
• Active state CNA registration or ability to obtain within 120 days.
• Completion of state-approved CMA/TMA coursework where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document care, medication administration and vital signs.
• Assist with transfers, positioning and mobility using safe techniques.
• Support meals, dining and hydration; assist with activities.
• Communicate changes to the charge nurse and care team.
• Participate in wellness and recreational programs.
