Job summary

The Bristal Assisted Living in Massapequa, NY is seeking compassionate Resident Services Aide for a part-time 7:00 AM–3:00 PM schedule on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. You will provide hands-on care, help residents with daily living activities, and accompany them to meals and activities in a warm, respectful manner.

Requirements include CNA/PCA/HHA credentials and English literacy; experience with geriatric residents and dementia is a plus.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant, Personal Care Attendant or Home Health Aide required.
• Experience with Alzheimer's/dementia a plus.
• English speaking and reading ability required.
• Geriatric care experience with ADLs preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and establish routines.
• Basic understanding of dementia; patient and professional demeanor.
• Respect for elderly; calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
• Escort residents to meals and recreational activities.
• Support residents' physical, emotional and psycho-social well-being.
• Assist in Wellness area to ensure safety and comfort.
• Follow policies and instructions of supervisory staff.
