Job summary

Autumn Leaves (J&M Family Management, LLC.) in Orland Park, IL is seeking a Resident Assistant to provide professional, compassionate care for residents in a memory care–focused setting. You will support ADLs, assist with transfers, meals, and hygiene, and maintain clean living spaces.

You will document vital signs, participate in resident activities, and respond to emergencies while coordinating with the care team to ensure safety and comfort for each resident.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: CNA and/or ACMA.
• 6-12 mos. experience in the Healthcare industry preferred.
• Experience in Memory Care preferred.
• Must complete 12 hours of continuing education – provided through community in-services.
• Must be fluent in English and have the ability to read and interpret documents such as resident care plan, safety rules, operating procedures, policies and employee manuals.
• Ability to complete incident reports and basic documentation as needed.
• Must work with other staff towards overall resident care.
• Ability to report to work at least 15 minutes early to conduct a “walk-through” with previous shift personnel.

Responsibilities

• Implements and supports resident care plan and assists with ADLs.
• Assists residents with transfers, bathing, hygiene, meals.
• Changes bed linens, handles laundry, and keeps rooms tidy.
• Records vital signs and monitors condition as directed.
• Engages residents in activities and supports assimilation.
• Reports changes in condition to leadership as delegated.
• Performs emergency responses as needed.
• Completes incident reports and documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
