Job summary

The Salvation Army in New York is seeking a dedicated residential staff member to maintain a safe, clean home-like environment and support individuals with daily living activities and independent living skills. You will document progress, assist with meals, budgeting, and coordinate transportation as needed.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Excellent oral and written communication; willingness to learn computer systems.
• AMAP, SCIP-R and CPR/First Aid certifications preferred.
• Valid driver's license required; ability to drive large vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, clean, home-like environment; informs Program Manager of needs.
• Informs Program Manager of serious incidents or policy violations.
• Develops ADL and ILS relevant to individuals.
• Maintains and submits records including daily goals, monthly progress notes, and reports.
• Implements treatment plans by training residents in ADLs, meal planning, budgeting, and recreation.
• Administers medications with training and supervision per policies.
• Communicates with staff in writing and verbally for continuity of care.
• Participates in treatment meetings and reviews; supports individualized goals.
• Keeps knowledge of medical, psychological, cognitive and social needs to tailor programming.
• Reports deficiencies or abuse and safety issues to management.
• Maintains cleanliness of the facility and surrounding areas; assists with meals and errands.
• Transporting individuals to programs, appointments, and activities as needed.
• Completes Staff Information Entry Form when escorting individuals to medical appointments.
• Delivers habilitation services per individual plans.
