Job summary

The Salvation Army in New York, NY is seeking a dedicated staff member to support residents with daily living, meal preparation, and housekeeping in a safe, home-like setting.

You will help maintain cleanliness, support nutritional needs, and transport residents to activities and appointments, while ensuring compliance with program policies and HIPAA requirements. A valid driver's license and basic computer skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Food Handlers Certificate preferred.
• Two years of experience in food preparation preferred.
• Basic computer skills for menu planning and ordering; ability to read/write.
• AMAP Certification, SCIP R and CPR & First Aid preferred.
• A Valid Driver’s License is required (must be able to drive large vehicle).
• Respect and consideration for residents served.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe, clean, home-like environment for residents.
• Assists residents in skill development in domestic living and medical appointments.
• Transport residents to programs, community activities, and medical appointments.
• Maintain inventory and cleanliness of supplies and rooms; submit orders.
• Ensure residents’ nutritional needs are met according to prescribed diets.
