Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Hershey, PA, seeks a dedicated CNA/Med Tech to support medication administration and daily resident care. You will assist with activities of daily living, respond to calls, and help maintain safe, clean living spaces while following all policies and confidentiality rules.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess both current CNA and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits assigned.
• Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in‑writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co‑workers at all times.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics.
• Must be in designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge and a smile.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• Must be able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner.
• Must attend and complete all required in‑services and staff meetings.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to remain calm and competent during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the administration of prescribed medications within the established scope of practice.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the position.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Report incidents involving residents to appropriate individuals (e.g., HCD, RN/LPN, ED).
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to all resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information.
• Assist residents to and from dining room, and to and from activities.
• Check on residents, ensure attendance at meals and activities.
• Check on residents who are ill and report status or concerns.
• Communicate verbally and in writing to report resident status and appointments.
• Assist new residents with move-in transition and provide emotional support.
• Attend medication trainings scheduled and complete cart audits as assigned.
• Document all medication administration on EMAR/MAR and Daily Log.
• Re-orders medications, faxes to pharmacy, communicates with family as needed with changes.
