Job summary

The Village at Gainesville is seeking a part-time Resident Care Assistant to attend to daily care and medication needs in a home-like setting. You will help residents with daily activities and engage them meaningfully, under supervision, to enhance quality of life.

The role reports to the Resident Care Manager/Coordinator, with a Part-Time schedule of two 8-hour shifts weekly (Sat/Sun 7a-3p). Additional compensation applies for overnight and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification or eligible.
• Medication support training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living in a caring manner.
• Assist with ambulation and transfers using proper technique.
• Support catheter and colostomy care under nurse supervision.
• Prepare residents for medical appointments and document observations.
• Communicate with nurses, managers, providers, and families.
• Complete documentation in medical records as needed.
• Lead or assist with resident activities during shifts.
• Participate in trainings and required in-service sessions.
• Maintain a clean, safe home-like environment daily.
• Perform other duties as required.

Position Title:

Resident Care Assistant

Pay Range:

$15-17

Overview:

In the role of the Resident Care Assistant, this individual will attend to the daily care and medication needs of residents while maintaining a home-like environment that is clean, safe, and orderly. This position is intended to enhance the quality of life for Assisted Living residents by providing regular and meaningful engagement. This position reports to the Resident Care Manager or Resident Care Coordinator.

Shifts Available:

• Part-Time (7a-3p)Every Sat & Sun

(Additional compensation for overnight and weekend shifts)

Part-Time is a set schedule with two (2) 8-hour shifts per week.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assist the residents with activities of daily living, i.e., bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and eating, in a competent and caring manner.
• Assist residents with ambulation, both transferring and with assistive devices, using correct body mechanics and techniques.
• Assist with routine catheter and colostomy bag care under the supervision of a nurse.
• Assist with preparation of the resident for medical or other appointments.
• Communicate observations or concerns regarding residents to Nurse and/or Manager.
• Communicate with health care providers (physicians, therapists, and case managers), families and responsible parties of residents.
• Complete all required reporting and documentation in the medical record as needed.
• Lead or assist with both formal and informal activities throughout work shift.
• Actively participate in intensive and frequent training and coaching in all job-related functions to include all in-service required training.
• Ensure a clean, safe, comfortable home setting by daily cleaning, straightening, and proper storage of equipment and supplies.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• CPR and First Aide certification or eligible.
• If applicable, Medication Technicians must successfully complete The Village Medical Assistance Training, including return demonstration of skills and understanding in assisting residents with self-administration of medications.
