Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide to provide quality care for residents at 621 McGovern Road, Hockessin, DE 19707. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor resident status, respond to calls, and support calm responses during emergencies.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a state-approved PCA program, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. A flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed an approved personal care aide program per state regulations as applicable.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of the nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.

Responsibilities

• Reports incidents involving residents to include care concerns or issues to appropriate individuals (ex: HCD, RN/LPN, or ED).
• Assists residents with activities of daily living.
• Performs housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Responds promptly to all resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts.
• Remains calm and competent during emergencies.
• Assists in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information.
• Assists residents to and from the dining room, and to and from activities.
• Checks on residents, ensures attendance at meals and activities.
• Checks on residents who are ill and reports status or concerns to appropriate individuals.
• Communicates verbally and in writing to report resident status, upcoming information, appointments, admissions, and transfers.
• Assists new residents with move-in transition: provide emotional support.
• Other duties as assigned.
