Job summary

The Aspenwood Company is seeking compassionate Resident Assistants to support seniors at The Crestmoor at Green Hills, a memory care assisted living community. You will help with daily living activities, meals, social activities, and resident safety in a warm, homelike environment.

We value reliability, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to resident well-being. Positions require weekend and holiday availability and a commitment to high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 6 months to 1 year of resident care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Strong problem-solving, good judgment and attention to detail are needed.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, dining) and promote independence.
• Serve meals and assist with meal preparation, encouraging proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, fostering socialization and friendships.
• Maintain accurate records of leisure activities, incidents, observations and changes in residents.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment; perform housekeeping duties as needed.
• Follow emergency procedures and respond promptly to resident requests (pendants/phone).
• Know residents' locations, ensure sign-out procedures and report if someone is unaccounted for.
• Contribute to a cooperative team environment and attend required in-service trainings.
• Be an active member of the community emergency response team.
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to policies.

Location: The Crestmoor at Green Hills, an Independent Living and Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community

Shifts Available

• Day Shift
• Night Shift

Must be available to work weekends and holidays

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
• Serve meals in the dining room or residents’ apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
• Know each resident’s location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
• Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
