Job summary

The Crestmoor at Green Hills is seeking a dedicated Resident Assistant to support seniors in both independent living and memory care settings. This full-time role covers days and nights, with weekend and holiday availability helping create a warm, supportive community.

You will assist with activities of daily living, meal service, and social activities while maintaining records and safety standards. A compassionate, detail-oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities while promoting independence.
• Serve meals and assist in meal preparation to ensure proper nutrition.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities to promote socialization.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, observations, and changes in residents.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment; perform housekeeping duties.
• Respond to emergencies and resident requests; use emergency pendants and calls.
• Know residents’ locations; report if a resident cannot be located.
• Contribute to a cooperative team and attend in-service trainings.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain professional appearance and hygiene per policy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
• Serve meals in the dining room or residents’ apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
• Know each resident’s location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
• Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
