Job summary

The Aspenwood Company - Spring Creek Village, an assisted living community in Spring, TX, is seeking compassionate Resident Assistants to support seniors in daily living activities and engage residents in meaningful leisure, social interaction, and nutrition-focused care. Responsibilities include documenting changes, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and responding quickly in emergencies.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, promoting independence.
• Serve meals and assist in meal preparation, ensuring proper nutrition.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities to foster social interaction.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, incidents, and resident changes.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment; assist with housekeeping.
• Follow procedures in emergencies and respond to calls promptly.
• Know resident locations and report if a resident cannot be located.
• Be an active member of the emergency response team.
• Attend required in-service training sessions.
• Maintain professional appearance and hygiene per policies.

Spring Creek Village, an Assisted Living senior community with Memory Care

Shifts Available

• 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
• 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
• 10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.

PRN Shifts Available

Must be available to work weekends and holidays

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
• Serve meals in the dining room or residents’ apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
• Know each resident’s location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
• Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
