Job summary

Ebenezer’s Amira Choice of Roseville on Lexington Ave seeks a Resident Assistant to support senior residents with daily living activities and personal cares. The role involves evening shifts, every other weekend, and occasional holidays, with on‑the‑job medication passing training under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Candidates should be prepared to assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility, and social activities, while maintaining safety and dignity.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in care or a related field.
• Ability to use technology including computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares (bathing, dressing, grooming).
• Provide support with meals and dining room service.
• Assist with activities and social events as assigned.
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition to RN.

Amira Choice of Roseville on lexington avenue is a beautiful, well-designed senior living community that offers the highest level of distinction for our residents. We offer 80 senior units with a mix of Independent/Assisted Living as well as Memory Care and Care Suites. Our community in Roseville, MN is adjacent to both Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN and is near public transportation making it a convenient location for our employees. We are looking for a Resident Assistant whom would provide personal cares to improve and/or maintain the senior assisted living/memory care residents’ physical and emotional well-being for our busy senior living in Roseville, MN on Lexington Ave. In the position one will be provided on the job medication passing training and be expected to pass medications.

This weekend caregiver schedule includes;

• 16 hours per two weeks


• evening shift


• every other weekend and holiday rotation

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:


• Bathing/showering


• Foot and fingernail care


• Shaving


• Dressing


• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses


• Hair care


• Feeding


• Toileting


• Escorts


• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift


• Provides health-related services as directed: Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)


• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse


• Performs specified home services:


• Performs laundry service per schedule.


• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.


• Delivers meal trays.


• Assists with meal service in dining room.


• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.


• Observes tenants/residents and reports status to appropriate staff.


• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.


• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment


• Offers pertinent observations and input.


• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.

• If under 18 must be on the MN NA registry and site must be able to manage restrictions that they are not able to pass medications or operate a mechanical lift independently.
